| | Yahoo games first look at High Treason. - Reviews Posted by: alex84 on 06-02-2006 @ 10:18 - Source: Yahoo Games | | This News Item has been viewed 36717 times! Yahoo games have posted a first look at the new standalone expansion High Treason.Read a section from the review:
Quote: The new single-player campaign wends its way through political intrigue, assassination, and biological warfare, all to the backdrop of a good variety of maps built specifically for the campaign. It's typical scripted stuff, but what it might lack in quality, it makes up for in sheer quantity. There are lots of missions, some of them frustratingly difficult, and some of them entirely forgettable, but they'll keep you busy if skirmishes or multiplayer games aren't your thing.
If skirmishes or multiplayer are your thing, there are new modes, including a puzzle-style capture game, and a game with a powerful tactical SCUD up for grabs. Even more importantly, there are lots of new setup options for multiplayer games, including a variety of victory conditions, a game speed option, and even a damage modifier to make combat more or less lethal. It's actually pretty impressive what a difference some of the seemingly minor options make. For instance, you can tweak each of the three types of resources -- oil wells, prisoners, and banks -- to completely change the economic balance of any game.

| | High Treason Q&A on Shacknews - Reviews Posted by: Ronnie on 03-09-2006 @ 06:58 - Source: Shacknews | | This News Item has been viewed 4900 times! The Act of War: High Treason Q&A on Shacknews discusses the upcoming sequel to Direct Action. "It's always tricky to limit the feature set of an expansion when there's so much you want to do, but in our case we had three pretty much given areas -- extend the replayability by deepening the multiplayer experience, both with more options and more maps, secondly to expand the gameplay experience by introducing new units, mainly naval battles and mercenaries, and finally of course to develop a new single-player campaign which was more interesting and challenging in terms of gameplay than in the original game." | | |
